Mandi Fortenberry, RN

Director of Nursing

Mandi completed Covenant Nursing school in 2010 and later started her career as a registered nurse at Covenant Hospital that same year.  She worked as a case manager at BeyondFaith Home Healthcare for approximately 5 years and has also worked as a service coordinator for an insurance company, and a drug and alcohol recovery facility.

Mandi started in Hospice this year as a case manager and was recently hired as the Director of Nursing at BeyondFaith Hospice in Lubbock.   She says, “I feel like this is where I was always meant to be.”

Mandi says, she wanted to become a nurse after her dad suffered from heart failure in the early 2000’s. She remembers thinking what a difference the nurses made in the care he received and how they impacted his life so much, at that point she decided that she wanted to be a part of something that touched so many lives in such a profound way.

As a hospice nurse and now as the DON Mandi shares that, “my goal is to provide the best possible care and support to our patients and their families during a very difficult time. My philosophy in life is to love others well in all circumstances and conditions.”  She goes on to say, “here at BeyondFaith Hospice I strive to provide the best possible care that I can to our patients. I also strive daily to provide support to our nurses and staff to empower them to be the best that they can be.”

Mandi spends most of her free time with family.   She has 4 children that range in ages from 19 to 7.  She enjoys attending their soccer games, volleyball tournaments and dance competitions. Mandi also loves to go out to the movies and attend dinners with friends.
